Welldone to those children in Yr 1 & 2 selected by their teacher to participate in a technology workshop.
Have lots of fun and we look forward to seeing your results.
Congratulations to the students selected for:
Yr 2 Writing Workshop
Prep Problem Solving
Yr 2/3 Performing Arts
You have worked so hard and are a true credit to our school!
What is differentiation?
Instead of teaching to the middle of the class we are now obliged to meet all of the needs in our class. This is not an easy task for any teacher to do! However one very practical way is to differentiate your lessons to meet these needs.
For example: For handwriting lessons – instead of putting up just one level on the whiteboard - why not put up three different levels to cater to the various abilities.
Year 1 & 2
Level One: Forming letters and using the correct Queensland lines.
Level Two: Entries and Exits + sentence on board
Level Three: Cursive Queensland script.
Children can move groups as appropriate to their handwriting ability.
Students are selected by their teacher to participate in this activity.
Completed work will be auctioned at the Creative Communities Display.
Students are withdrawn twice a week for two weeks to complete this task.
Prep – 2 Group murals
Year 3 – individual piece of work
Prep – Year 2 Spelling Champs were held on the 20th of May 2009.
Students were nominated by their teacher to take part.
All children received participation certificates.

Students who are gifted excel, or are capable of excelling, in one or more domains such as general intelligence, specific academic studies, visual and performing arts, physical ability, creative thinking, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
Giftedness in a student is commonly characterised by an advanced pace of learning, quality of thinking, or capability for remarkably high standards of performance compared to students of the same age.
Talents are usually developed later in life after much training and direction.
